Jamie Eggermann distinguished herself in her two sports so much that she received scholarship offers in each from two different colleges. After placing third in state in badminton, a coach from Southern Illinois University offered her an athletic scholarship. Eggermann declines as she already had signed a letter of intent to play volleyball for St. Xavier College.
Eggermann appreciated her athletic experience beyond wins and awards. She credits her volleyball coach with helping her get the scholarship to St. Xavier.

“I received a full scholarship at St. Xavier. If it wasn’t for this scholarship I would have never been able to afford my college education and receive a bachelor’s degree in nursing. Thank you, Ms. Jankowski, for believing in me and being an outstanding coach. I am so grateful for everything Mr. Sands and Ms. Jankowski have done for me. Honestly, I couldn’t have done it without them.”
